Bad Breath Love Letter #1

Dear Bad Breathe-er,

How has it been? How is life going for you? I heard you were in the area, so I decided to write to you. I know the sorrow and shame you have because of your bad breath. How co-workers turn the opposite direction when they see you coming down the hall way.

I know what it’s like when all you want to do is enjoy a nice conversation with someone, but just never can, because of the foul stench coming from out of your mouth.

How you can’t get anyone to go out with you because of the smell that comes with you. How you live a secluded life, apart from the world, thinking no one cares for you.

But BB, remember, I care for you. Even though we don’t know each other, we have something in common. We know what it’s like to be humiliated just because of something that we’ve tried to get rid of, but haven’t found a way yet.

BB, Remember the times when life was good? When you could breath the free air, and no one said anything to you? Remember those time when you could be near people and speak to them without fear of them scrunching their nose every time you said something?

BB, I can’t guarantee that those days will come back. But that doesn’t mean that you should give up on your quest for fresh breath. Never give up until you find the cure.

True friends stick with you through thick and thin. BB, this is the time when you will see who are your true friends and who were just the one’s that hung out with you because of your status.

Don’t get offended when people leave you, when those you thought were friends turn out not to be. Don’t give up when you feel the world around you has caved in, and you can’t go on.

Don’t let this bad breath define you. Don’t let it get you down. BB, this is your time to thrive, the time where you will show the world what you are made of. Are you a quitter, one who will let people stereotype you because of your bad breath?

Don’t let that happen. Even though no one around you loves you, I do, and I care about you, your story, and how you are breaking out of the hole you feel you are in.

I’m here to let you know, that even though there are people laughing at you behind your back, there is one here who is willing to love you unconditionally, one who will not be afraid to stand with you in front of the mockers. One who is willing to help you with your search for a better life.

BB, rise to the occasion. Be the person who does not give into fear and anger. Stand with me in our shortcomings, and let us go down the road together to find bad breath freedom.

With all the love and care I can give you,

a fellow bad breathe-er friend.
