How did CloSYS get started?
Dr. Perry Ratcliff was an American dentist. Working in late 1900s, he found that the problem of bad breath was quite prevalent. And so he started experimenting with various compounds, to see if there was something that would fight against, and kill, the bad breath bacteria.
What he found was that a form of stabilized chlorine dioxide was a powerful agent and did just what he wanted it to. Patenting his own form, by the name of Cloralstan, it is now the active ingredient in all CloSYS products.
After patenting Cloralstan, Dr. Ratcliff developed CloSYS with a team of intellectually minded people, and built it to what it is today.
Chlorhexidine
Chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwashes are usually prescribed when fighting against certain oral issues, like gingivitis or other gum diseases. Gingivitis is a disease that can cause redness, swelling, and bleeding gums. Through Gingivitis, it is possible to come against bad breath, due to your gums being infected, and quite possibly having a foul smell.

Dentist Prescribed

Common Side Effects

If you show signs of skin rash, hives, cold sweats, difficulty breathing, wheezing, feeling light-headed, and/or any swelling in your face, lips, or tongue, you should seek medical attention immediately.
The more common side effects are as follows:
Staining. Due to the properties found in chlorhexidine gluconate, it can cause discoloration and staining on the teeth, tongue, dentures, and crowns.
It is recommended not to drink wine, coffee, or other alcoholic beverages while using this product, as though will make the staining worse.
Unusual Taste. Because you’re putting a product in your mouth that isn’t made to taste great, it’s obvious that you’ll probably end up with an unusual, or unpleasant taste within your mouth, possibly making you feel like rinsing your mouth out with water.
Unfortunately, it’s not recommended rinsing out with water after using Chlorhexidine, as that will cause the mouthwash to lose much of its potency.
Dry Mouth. This product has also been known to cause your mouth to become dry. This happens when the flow of saliva is restricted in some way.
Dry mouth can bring about halitosis as bad bacteria populate rather quickly in dry places, especially dry mouths.
CloSYS Vs Chlorhexidine
Both products are useful in helping cure and fight against issues found in your oral cavity. But that doesn’t mean that they are equal. Nor does that mean that they both work for all people.
CloSYS is an easier solution for those who are trying to find ways to cure their bad breath. It can be bought over the counter, shouldn’t give you too many side effects, and should clear up your halitosis within a few days, if not immediately.
Chlorhexidine, on the other hand, is a prescribed drug that you may just need to take for the time being, to keep your dentist satisfied, and to help keep your mouth healthy after a deep tooth cleaning.
